My name is Jesye Streisel and I am a 4th grade teacher. After an amazing (stressful) first year teaching at an American school in Italy, I'm so excited to be starting my second year. I believe that teaching is about creating a love of learning and that this begins with creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth in the whole child. In order to learn, children need to feel comfortable enough to take risks. Beyond that, I work to create a classroom that encourages curiosity. Students who work hands-on with the subject area and seek answers to essential questions they've helped to develop take ownership of their learning.
